Writing is one of those things that comes and goes for me. I can never seem to stick to one thing, which ultimately is why I’ve worked well with projects that I don’t have to finish. And so, resultingly, in trying to finish a complete novel, I’ve found myself veering away from it little by little. I don’t write something for this story every day as I probably should and wish I did. It’s just something that’s hard for me.

However, I’ve noticed the past few days that I seem to work well with writing small increments while I’m at work. I write during the in between moments, where I’m waiting on something or I’m on break. And I’m not sure what it is about this, but I always seem better able to write in these moments than when I’m sat at my computer. I couldn’t tell you why this is, but I part of me wishes it were different. While it’s nice to actually stick with one project, I don’t understand why it’s not as easy when I’m home.

And it’s just been something that’s on my mind.

What about you? Do you have a place where it’s easier to write than other places?

Happy writing!

  1. I can only really write in my house. And not everyday. I have a word count goal every week and this works for me. Finding what works for you is important and not following another writers ‘rules’. Sometimes you just need to force yourself to write absolute drivel and then the gold appears… well maybe not gold but you get the idea ☺
